Antique 19th Century Photo of Nude Lady Standing on Cheetah Skin Rug & Spear circa 1890
Incredible antique photo of an attractive naked lady standing on a leopard skin rug aiming a spear at the ground circa 1890.
The development of photography was quite fast: since Niépce took the world's first photograph in 1826, it took only about 30 years for photographs became a product for mass consumption with the introduction of carte-de-visite. From the beginning photographers celebrated women as their subjects, from intimate family portraits and fashion spreads to artistic photography and nude studies. Nude studies were meant to be kept hidden from general view and so a taboo grew up around it.
Housed in a modernblack wooden frame and mounted under UV glass by Pure & Applied conservation framers of London.
