Queen Elizabeth II Signed Presentation Photo of Baby Prince Andrew 1960
Rare presentation photograph signed by Queen Elizabeth II (born 21 April 1926), of her holding her new born baby Prince Andrew. The photograph was presented by the Queen to Sister Jean Teasdale, a nurse at King's College Hospital in London, that assisted in the birth of the baby Prince. It is housed in its original blue leather frame by H.H. Plante of London with easel back. It is accompanied by an original photograph of Sister Teasdale in her uniform, a letter of invitation on Buckingham Palace embossed stationery, to the Christening of Prince Andrew in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace on 8th April 1960, dated 31st March 1960, accompanied by its original envelope, another letter signed by Martin Charteris, Private Secretary to the Queen, to Sister Teasdale informing her that the Queen would like a private meeting with her before the Christening, which was when this photograph was presented, accompanied by its original envelope. Also accompanying the photograph is the Prayer Sheet from the Christening, an invitation to an Afternoon Party hosted by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace dated 21st July 1960, and Sister Teasdale's obituary.
